The process of obtaining a residence permit in Latvia consists of several sequential stages. Depending on the legal basis, the procedure may vary slightly; however, the main stages of the process remain generally the same.

Consultation and situation analysis

At the first stage, we discuss the client’s situation and assess the possibility of obtaining a residence permit through the purchase of real estate.

Property Selection and Due Diligence

The client selects a property for purchase. We can assist through our partners in finding a suitable property or conduct legal due diligence of an already selected real estate object.

We review the property documentation, assess legal risks, and provide consultation on transaction terms to ensure that the purchase is secure and complies with the requirements for obtaining a residence permit.

Transaction Completion (Purchase of Property)

After selecting a property, we prepare the purchase agreement taking into account the client’s interests and provide full support throughout the transaction process until ownership is officially registered in the client’s name with the State Land Service.

Preparation of Documents for a Residence Permit

During the property transfer process, we begin preparing the documents required for the residence permit application.

We compile the full set of documents, complete the application forms and required paperwork in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.

Review of Documents

After the submission of documents, the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia reviews the submitted application and makes a decision.

We remain in contact with the client and provide updates on the progress of the application review process.

Issuance of the Residence Permit Card

After a positive decision has been made, the applicant arrives in Latvia to complete the issuance of the residence permit card.

At this stage, biometric data is registered and the residence permit card is issued.
